Wii Control/ Charge Station

diy wii control charge station

Spent this morning working on this project. It was an idea in my head I had for a few days now and I finally took my idea out from my head and decided to created it. If you have a Wii device then you know that there are controls and more controls and well additional controls that can add up with the result of causing a not so organized mess. Since I have three siblings we got a lot of controls and controls for the controls as well as the Wii U console.  My mom originally threw it all in a circle shaped basket which was fine (not to me but I let that one slide for a while) until my son learned how to walk and started getting into the basket. Basket on floor + cool cords and controls = my son's dream toys to discover. So I had to think of a solution and quick!  Here is how I made this project:

I took the Fan Pack Box From McDonald's

Got a self adhesive design paper (I had this already at home) You can buy at Dollarama for $2.00

Let's do the inside of the box first.

Lay down the design paper with design facing down. Make sure there is enough to go around.

Next cut design paper. You want to cut towards the corner of the box. Repeat for each corner.

Once that is complete, Cut any extra design paper you wont be needing.

Fold down all the half inside, (design paper facing you)

Place the design paper inside, making sure that it will fit.

Now that it fits, take out the design paper and peel the backing of ONLY the bottom.

Smooth down all air bubbles.

Now you can do the same for each of the sides. Peel the backing and smooth out all air bubble.
(***Tip: Best to peel slowly from bottom up and smooth as you move up**)

This is what it will look like when its done.

Next grab the other design paper you want to use for the outside of the box.

We are going to use the same technique cut to each corner of the box and then peel ONLY the bottom.

Place the box on and peel each side. Smooth out all air bubbles as well.

Cut any extra pieces you do not want.

This is what mine turned out like. I purposely wanted the inside paper to show on the top.
You can choose to do as well if you want to.

Now if you wan to make it to a charge station as well. You need to figure out where you want to place the cord.

Use scissors to pop a hole threw, and use extra design paper to cover make the hold look better.

Place all your controls into the box in a organized way.

I love how it turned out.

Now its your turn!
