Personally, I haven't applied no fitness program or I don't own any workout equipment. The most I have done is work out at a hotel once years ago on a treadmill and used to do Zumba a lot in my living room. That's it, so when I decided to try something new and take advantage of a HipHop Class (aka always been a dream of mine) I thought about work out essentials that I would need for this or for working out in general. Of course, it depends on what you are doing but it consists of the same items.
Active Top: There are many different styles out there that will suit your needs from tanks, tee and long sleeves. You can even choose to have open back style tops if you like to show a little skin to having tops with built in bras. I bought my seamless tank from Ardene's for $6.25. The original price was $12.50, but I got it on their 50% sale.
Workout Bra: Some don't mind wearing the workout bra with a pair of shorts or capris. Others, like me, prefer to have the workout bra handy to pair with a tee that doesn't have a built-in bra. Comes in handy for those laundry days, your workout clothes are in the wash and you can still work out. I also bought this at Ardene's sale so instead of paying $12.50, my workout bra cost me $6.25.
Shorts/Pants: It was so much fun to see all the neat designs for active wear in this category. I saw a lot of see through sheer intergraded in the designs for some and bright patterns that you can choose from. I moved away from my typical go-to black color and went for a simple grey. These both were at Ardene's 50% sale. The shorts used to be $14.50, but I got it for $7.25, The crop pants originally costed $24.50 but thanks to the sale, I bought it for $12.25. No to bad!
Running Shoes: I love a good pair of shoes. The last thing you want to worry about it having your feet hurting while you workout. I bought my grey and green Champion memory foam shoes at Payless on sale. It originally cost $25.00 but thanks to their 30% off coupon that they emailed me, I only had to pay $19.78 (that includes tax)
Water Bottle: Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! For those times your are huffing and puffing over that workout you did, you will need a drink or two or three to keep you going. You don't have to look too far to get yourself a water bottle that has cute sayings, simple colors or design. I bought my huge water bottle from Dollarama for $3.00.
A Bag: It comes in handy to be able to carry your stuff in a bag. Especially works great for those who are going to be changing their clothes there at the gym or studio. Everything you need will be right there with you. I bought a small Nike overnight/duffle bag from Value Village for $6.99 that I am going to be using.
Try something new, stay at home, or join in with your friends to stay in shape. Find ways to stay fit even if that means parking in the farther distance of a store or choosing to walk instead of driving, most importantly, have fun!
