Over the March Break I made a flower pot activity for my siblings as a gift to my mom. I was thinking about decoration I could make for the celebration of not being at school for the week and well honestly I only got as far as my bedroom. However this project still turned out great. I got to wake up to decorations. The best thing about this project is that I am recycling plastic bags. I know, plastic bags are bad I agree and honestly stores need a better way of getting rid of them. Now, if you are like me and forget from time to time to bring your environmental bags and come home with a plastic bag that you don't know what to do with them. How about using them as décor?
This is an inexpensive way to create decorations for any occasion. It looks great and it is extremely easy. After done, you can reuse and reuse over again. Awesome! Here is how I made my easy to plastic bag pom poms or flower balls.
Get a plastic bag. (recycle the ones you have please)
Fold in half
Fold again
Fold once again
Yup fold again
Fold for one last time
Get those party balloon ribbons or string.
Tie the sting or ribbon in the middle of the plastic bag (It should look almost like a bow tie)
Now cut from the end up towards to ribbon.
Repeat to the other side.
Once done, cut all the ends that have loops or fold overs
This is how it will look like at the end
The black Urban Planet bag turned out perfect because it was thicker plastic,
I tried different plastic bags here that I had and made a pattern.
The thin Dollarama bags turned out looking like a flower ball but I like that it give a pop of color.
The grey Walmart bag turned out very nice as well and
Add some streamers and you have yourself a party!
